New Orleans Mayor: 'This Is The Real Deal' Bush Urges Louisiana Residents To Flee Storm's Path



As the deadly Hurricane Katrina churned closer to Louisiana, officials issued mandatory evacuations in some low-lying areas and encouraged some other residents to leave voluntarily. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a test. This is the real deal," said New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. Katrina is threatening to grow to Category 4 and could slam into Louisiana or Mississippi.

Nearly 1,000 Abu Ghraib detainees released (story)


BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Nearly 1,000 detainees at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison were released this week at the request of the Iraqi government, Multi-National Forces said Saturday.

Hoodlum shot by fed-up neighbor (video)


This is a video of a shooting from Valdosta, Georgia. This is why we don't see any videos of citizens beaing beaten up by street thugs down south. A visitor sent me this tape and said it resulted from the homeowner have called the police on this thug for selling drugs and intimidating and threatening people in the neighborhood with violence. After the cops left the thug went over to confront him. The thug apparently had moved into the neighborhood recently from Arizona. Welcome to Georgia hoodlum.
